I have woken up sweating in the middle of the night over this but it has to be done but it is going to take some time...
I am currently opening a can of worms, by setting myself a new project. The idea is to put together a documentry about Rom skatepark. So far everyone I have interviewed contacted and bugged for photos images and the like has been very very helpfull. Thanks one and all you know who you are.
It is building nicely but there is still a long way to go. Anyone who would like to contribute images info etc then contact me by going to monkeyglove.com and click Rom Town.
Anyone who has skated Rom for periods of time since 78 to the present day with a story to tell get in touch. If anyone has images of the shogu visit, the bones tour that never happened, the old half pipes (wood - no platform on one side - the metal) ( the wooden spined mini ) (the storm damage of Oct 87 ??) (Any pro visits the list in long)
Also trying to track down
Winston May Vince Skanlon Yiffa Big dean Robbie Hunter Mark Slough
Thanks to Nick Sable
Keep the faith

That bloody bones tour. I was 15 years old and turned up with 4 mates. When they cancelled the demo, things turned nasty and I got arrested for 'inciting a riot' by rocking the police vans. Apparently 3000 kids turned up and they were only expecting 500. A friend managed to bail me out just in time for me to get to Latimer Road for the demo later in the day. I have got some photo's of that day, including all the crowds. If you want me to dig through the garage and try and scan them I will. Also have pictures of when Vallely and Guerero visited.

If you can dig out those photo's of the Bones Tour that never happened and the visit of vallely and Tommy G that would be great. Scan them and e-mail them to me throught the website.
Cheers Matt

Howdy Matt, your project seems to be gathering pace, by the look of it, it may turn into one of those "Must see cinema experiences that I LIKE!

I remember looking at some of the old pics taken at Romford that were hanging up outside the office there. I recognised Lance Mountain on one of the pics, who used to skate there when he was in the area. The locals sounded surprised, as it sounded as if they had forgotten about him being there. Romford was a nice place to be at. The little clover was fun. /waves at old locals!

Hi mate, let me know when you track all these guys down,,,, what a crew,,,best fun you could ever have. Would love to meet up with them all in late June 2006 (unfortunately or fortunately (depending how you look at it) i live in Australia now) but will be in England in June. Still love the style and miss the people. Regards Rob Hunter robhunterdirect@hotmail.com.....ps i lived opposite the Rom and was the first person to ever skate it,,,, before it opened. look forward to meeting all the guys (although i reckon Yiffa and his brother are both in mental institutions!!!!) ha ha
