Places I skated / remember
« on: August 10, 2004, 05:59:54 PM »

Probably most of these are now gone / forgotten about, but they hold fond memories for me. Would be interested in hearing if any still exist (ones in normal text I know have gone) or anyone that skated at these places back in the day...

Lytham - next to the Lifeboat station
Empire Skate Building - Preston
Grinders - Bradenton - Florida (concrete bowls)
Wesham 1/2 pipe - built by Woody
Hutton - Rare Unit 1/2 pipe
Warrington? - Rare Unit street course
Goshen Sports Centre - Bury
Skate Shack - Barrow in Furness
"Curbs" - Manchester - near the BBC
Callington - Cornwall - concrete midi - Cornwall
Dittisham - Devon - Wooden mini on the sea front
Plymouth - Rare unit park near the Hoe
Wavertree - concrete 'thing' - near new technology park
Blackpool Band stand - sea front
Blackpool Cenetaph - sea front
Woking - Metal Mini's in park
Weybridge - Metal minis behind Library
Hayes - Indoor skate park

That's about it for now I think, sure there's loads more I've forgotten...

Em, in my two skating incarnations (first time and second time) here's my concise list....

The street
Kelvingrove (think the old roller rink bits still there, and the remains of clover, etc - it was THE best nowl ever)
Holy Cross School, Hamilton
Motherwell bridge factory (broke in to skate the metal full pipes, broke my arm!!)
Electric Bar Banks, Motherwell
Some skatepark in Easterhouse
Some pathetic park in Edunburgh
Livingston
Southport skatepark (with Big Dick and Alan Niblo) - bits still exist
Grangemouth half pipe
Edge Lane, Liverpool
The ROM (Romford)
Andover pool
Kidderminster (pool and half pipe, placed 9th in the half pipe)
Kennington Oval
Meanwhile (1 and 2)
South Bank
Latimer Road
Morfa (Big as fick vert ramp, Swansea)
St. Agnes (Cornwall)
Bristol (can't remember the name)
Bath mini ramp in a park
Darwin (the indoor and the outdoor ramps)
St. Helen's mini ramp
Ratty Rawcliffes mad garage
Dan-Z's half pipe in his shop
Warrington
Wigan
Preston
Barrow
Dewsbury half pipe
Mad Fucking Snoz's secret ramp/bowl complex
Wakefield
Ardwick (as part of the Ardwick Hardcore)
Oxford Road
Split mini ramp (God I hated the owner!!)
Goshen (we allegedly 'built' the vert ramo - basically we didn't have a clue so the council took over!)
Washington (had my stag do there)
Dundee - the factory
Glasgow - Angel Lights - the Church (RIP), AKA Dokey's Den
Aberdeen
Shrewsbury (Derek and Derek's place)
Stoke - where the Ardwick ramp went to live after Ardwick
Some dude's garden near Crewe
Whakatane pool, NZ
Ngongotaha concrete half pipe (now replaced with a pool Smiley)

Probably a hundred more that I have missed (e.g. Dublin, Hamburg. Livi indoor ramp)

Yeah i remember the southport park with all the concrete banks and big snake-run, was edge lane the park with all the metal ramps and the huge ( gigantic ) tarmac bowl that was rough as a bear's arse ? If i remember correctly you had a past the elbow stookie at the time but skated anyway ( nutter ) Tongue

The clover bowl at kelvingrove was great, even now it'd be a cool thing to add to any park,
tell kids that nowadays and they wont believe you ... i loved the hauf-pipe too Smiley happy days ... they built a brand new skatepark on the freestyle area a few years back, i keep meaning to go through for a hurl but haven't made it yet ( too many damn kids doing new fangled tricks god damn it ) Cheesy

I wont list where i've skated cos almost none of the places are in edinburgh and that pisses me off ...

I'm not bitter honestly Tongue

L8er guys Smiley
