Any Toronto area skaters ??
« on: June 01, 2004, 12:43:10 AM »

I'm in my 30's and am looking to hook up with others near my age group to hit some local skate parks. I'm really pumped about being back into this but it really sucks showing up and skating alone. I swear some of the kids parents are looking sideways at me ....

If you're an old guy like me and thinking about getting the board out again PLEASE drop me a line.  My e-mail address is beacheshome@yahoo.ca(nospam)

Please don't include (nospam) in the address.

I'm north of you up by Barrie.   Alcona Innisfil actually.   I'm 40 and just got back into skating 2 months ago when I built a 24' long 4' high 8' wide mini-ramp in my back yard.

10 to 15 years ago I rode at Torontosaurus in North York and Grassroots in Brampton for 2 years.

Haven't been on a skate board since then.    Ramp is down right now and being rebuilt in my garage for the winter.

Maybe we can hook up later or in the spring?!

I'm hoping to emigrate to TO sometime next year(fingers crossed-posting my application in August :-/) and I'd like to know if there's any concrete and/or indoor parks in the GTA?
So far the only indoor places I've found on the interweb are Shred Central and another place that looks way too streety for me.I've also heard that North York has a concrete bowl, though I've not seen any pics yet.
Can anyone reassure me that there is more than that ???Please?

I'm 35 and in Toronto.  I just picked up an old-school board and some indy trucks a few weeks ago.

Alas, I've already fractured my arm/wrist just trying to get comfortable with ollie's again.  It's been a looong time for me.

If you don't mind skating with someone who will literally be a beginner for the first few outings, I'd love to sk8 again once my arm is healed (anywhere from 3 more days to 2 more weeks)...
