yep, that board was from Mr Blood.

I saw Lorne last week, and took the photo's below.

He is in South Africa as I post this, on a well deserved break.
I have told Lorne about this site, and he hopes to be able to visit soon...

It would be nice to meet up again, let's do it! Smiley

Lorne Edwards - The Daddy of UK Skateboarding, and the man resposible for the first skatepark in the UK!

Yeah He AM The Daddy!

Thats the board alright, I remember once a little grem came up to me and asked me how much it cost for all the Sims stickers on the bottom! Last time I saw it had Green Sims Snakes on it rather than YoYo's.

I'm well up for a mini Skate Escape crew reunion jam. Mark was telling me that they hold a farmers market on the old hallowed ground these days - what a waste!

There doesn't seem to be many old pictures of Portland anywhere, well apart from Skateboard issue 1 - with Steve and Mike Grounds (on a z-flex Adams!) in the snake run. Maybe Lorne could assist in that department, I have a few. Alan (Benny) from Wareham had albums full but whether he still has them who knows?

I have to say from your recent photo's Lorne hasn't changed over the years.

I'll have to get hold of Mark and try and sort a few dates out for a potential meet.

How I hate this time of year..................stop raining!

All I've got are here although I know my parents have one of me in my Skateboard Escape T-shirt

If your out there James I'm in Wareham this weekend visiting Mark. The plan is to visit a few places - weather permitting! He's thinking about a trip to Weymouth sometime on Saturday. I'm not sure whether you'll get this post before then or if you're even around?

Hi Rob, just seen your post.

I am tied up today, (Sat) but will be up for a skate on Sunday (weather permitting)
I was hoping to do Kings Park in Bournemouth?

Dom and I skate most weekends. Couple of weeks ago we did Southsea, it was great to tear up the old crete! Smiley
Last week we did Bournemouth, Kings Park, and then on to a empty pool, the location of which I cant post here!

Dom will not be skating this weekend though, as he is having eye surgery. (Ouch!)
But being the gnarly ripster that he is .... he will be back skating in no time!

I have taken down your mobile number, and will text you mine...

Hope to catch up with you guys tomorrow if it's not raining?

Hi James,

Just checking in after a mad weekend and a busy week at work!

Had a good skate at The Front on Saturday afternoon albeit somewhat knackering!  Smiley

Just as Mark, his son Liam and I were leaving we found this really gnarly little ramp/wall ride - about a 1 1/2 ft of tranny then straight up to vert! Needless to say we overstayed our session considerably! It reminded us of the end wall in the freestyle area!  Cool

It was a shame about the weather on Sunday - I was well up for a skate! Better luck next time!

They hire The Front out for private sessions - Mark and I are well into the idea of that! He was showing me some photos of the opening day of Wareham skatepark the other day it looked well rad – for the 6 months it stayed open – largely due to the chislers that owned it! Angry

I love the sound of that pool by the way – but as you say this isn’t the place!   Lips Sealed

I've noticed that there isn’t much activity on here apart from our ramblings, do you ever look on the middle-age shred site at all? The UK pages of NCDSA’s site is good too – slalom is big!  Grin

Speak soon, Take it easy.

Rob

p.s. just spent a decade trying to insert a couple of pictures - as you can see I failed - tecnology eh? Angry

We just re-visited that pool...

...and tagged it before leaving!

James, that looks phenomenal!
How was it, looks like the trannies are good, but a bit slippery on all those tiles?
I don't suppose it's secret location is anywhere near Vancouver is it?

That is indeed a sweet spot! Grin

I can even hear the sound of wheels on those tiles  Cool

I hope to be down again in a couple of weeks although judging by the surroundings the pool doesn't look long too long for this world.  Sad

Has Dom recovered from his eye surgery OK?

Will post a few pics shortly now I know where I was going wrong - thanks Tony!

Cheers

Yo James, its been a while!

You been in the wars again then bro? Was it the concrete at Kings Park that did the damage?

If you fancy a weekends fun and games check the NASS Festival thread - sign up with us and get a reduced entry and competitor perks at the festival! Cool

Cheers
