ROLLIN' THROUGH THE DECADES

Rollin’ Through the Decades will take you on a sensational journey from the second emergence of skateboarding culture in London around 20 years ago, to the global phenomenon it is today. Looking deep into the short, yet rich history of skateboarding in London, Rollin’ Through The Decades shows how America’s influence affected the generations, through the growth of a positive British skateboarding community, to the multi million pound franchise it is today. With some of the finest tunes from the 80's and 90's, and music especially composed for the film by the legendary Dobie and crew, rollin’ interviews over 100 inspirational and legendary skateboarders, photographers and filmmakers. Showcasing historic, rare and unseen skateboarding footage, Rollin’ Through The Decades promises to be a landmark in British skateboarding filmmaking. Currently in production, but aiming for an October 2003 release...

There is an exhibition of stills from the film up from the 26th February 2004 for 6 weeks at:

PHONICA
51 Poland Street, London, W1F 7NG
Tel: +44 (0) 20 70256070

Film Update

As for the editing, it's coming along fine and taking shape day by day. Lots of cutting and sorting being done. Beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm still looking for footage and stills of 70's skateparks. Maddog Bowl, Sk8 Circus and Rolling Thunder. Please get in touch info@rollinthroughthedecades.com if you can help.

Expect more photos and video clips up soon on the site. Time will tell so please bear with me as for the screening dates which will be uploaded to the news page as soon as they are available in April/May. Please come visit us soon for more updates, it's a work in progress mode full speed ahead!!!

Keep skateboarding real! Go skate!

Peace,
Winstan

Due to overwhelming demand, the Rollin Through The Decades stills exhibition has been granted an extended play at Phonica Records until May 4.

Strictly limited edition prints are still available for sale.

Greetings to all...

If you haven't come down, then now's your chance. These are iconic, striking images that you wont' see anywhere else - ones that chart the last 30 years of skateboarding in the UK, taken from a film that's already set to become a cult classic.

Phonica is located at 51 Poland St, W1. It's open Monday to Saturday, 11.30 am till 7.30 pm.

For further information about Rollin Through The Decades please visit: www.rollinthroughthedecades.com

To place an order or arrange a private view of the exhibition contact Sean Bidder...(seanbidder@vinylfactory.co.uk), or ask the guys behind the counter in the shop.

Peace

I finally bought a copy and honestly think it would explain why we skate
to people who have never "got it" , that aside it was excellent and i finally
know what the south bank looks like  Tongue

I even bought a pair of vans so I can go skate badly and fall off in style   Grin
