A man who hand-built one of Britain's biggest indoor skate parks has been credited with cutting reports of local youth disorder by more than a third....
So what they are actually saying is that the local skateboarders are responsible for 35% of the street crime in the area. Not sure if that's a postive article or not.
I think what they are actually saying is, that the 35% drop in crime is due to youth in the area now having some thing else to focus on and channel any agression. Skateboarding !
Go figure. Giving young people an opportunity to be active in something enjoyable in a place that they feel they belong and won't be hassled by authorities just for being there, has to have a positive outcome. I am surprised that Scottish authorities didn't "get" that, as there is lots of research on the topic. Imagine what this guy could do with some funding!
I want to see that C$1.5 million Aberdeen skatepark! It must be huge!
