Amendment:

The Andover2 Competition to promote the installation of a concrete bowl at The Depot has been moved to 12th May.  Sorry to confuse anyone.  Basically we are teaming up with an event that is occuring in the evening - live music etc.  the Comp/fun sesh will start at around 1pm and lead nicely into the evenings entertainment.

Please spread the word or even better come along and promote our vision (to the powers that be) and get a concrete bowl built.  I want it to happen (bad) but I'm not going it alone.

I'm sure Graham will post a reply soon, but in case he doesn't the next Andover comp is scheduled for June 24th. Hopefully the weather will be better this time. It is important to get as many skaters, etc to turn up on the day to show the council that money invested in a concrete bowl will not be wasted. Graham is now looking at building a clover leaf bowl after a visit to Aberdare.

I am in talks with the Andover Council again with regards to building another concrete bowl.  As part of the promotion I need as many Old School Skaters at a competition at The Depot Leisure Centre near Charlton.  what day and what time to give my support, stewart savage.

Update,

Things are moving fast now, the work through the summer months is starting to pay off.  Check out our website www.utsc.co.uk where the story is told in full.  We now have excellent support from Skaters, Politicians, Councillors, Parents, Local Businesses and more to build Andover2!!!!!!!

It's not going to happen over night but it is going to happen and I need as much support from this group as possible.  By this i mean any support at all is always useful.  Competitions will be occuring through the year but most importantly I need input into ideas for the new park.  Personally I would like to replicate what we had in Andover in 1980 but that would not suit modern skating style etc.

Please feel free to leave positive comments on our website to take things forward and get Andover2 up and running.

Graham
